Padoen's Apartment 3

Nearing completion of the public version of the apartment.  Into the detailing phase, which involves fixing up loose ends here and there and dropping props into it.  Once done with that, I'm going to start fleshing out the personal details for the Plagarus version.

Hopefully everyone is doing awesome.

Padoen's Apartment 2

Still working on the details of the main area of the apartment.  After this, it's creating a door and atrium area, and furnishing and detailing the bedroom loft section.

After I'm finished the publicly available version, I'll put in some additional details, mostly consisting of personal decorations which are specific to the film, and then start blocking out the animation.  Fun times.

Have a happy week, everyone.

Padoen Titus' Apartment

Working on Part 3 of Plagarus.  All of the action this time takes place in a single set, Padoen Titus' apartment.  Working on it, but it's still a lonnnnng way from being finished.

Still have to add a bunch of stuff, like furnishings.  Have to add some futuristic couches, and a table and some nice chairs.  It's going to be tough, because this is supposed to be the bachelor pad of a disoriented and confused young man without much sense of tidiness.  Making messes in 3D art is actually harder than making clean, pristine places.  Oh well.

Hope everyone is doing awesome.

New Ship Design: Esquiline Class

Starting concept work on a new spaceship design, the Esquiline class.  If anyone can catch (without Googling it or otherwise looking it up!) where I'm getting all the class names for the Thrassi fleet from, I'd be impressed.  Palatine, Esquiline, Viminal, Aventine.

Here are the three design phases so far, as the ship goes through its conceptual adjustments:

First Day:

Second Day:

Third Day:

On the third day (today), I discovered I really liked the more squashed look of the ship than the very long look of before.  So I squashed it.  I discovered this by accident when I wondered why I liked the orthographic 3/4 view of the front (4th picture from the bottom).

The problem is that it's starting to resemble the Misanthropic Retreat a bit too much.  Granted, there are precedents for cars resembling other designs in real life.  We'll have to see how it turns out.  I'll probably put in additional winglet details around the engines.  This will probably be where the FTL drive winglets are placed and retract.
